Surat: Dr. Deepak Kumar, Executive Director, RBI gave detailed information to the industrialists about the ‘International Trade Agreement in Indian Rupees’

Textiles, diamonds and gems and jewelery are largely exported from Surat to UAE, so there may also be opportunities for international trade in Indian Rupees.

Dr. Deepak Kumar advised traders to do export-import business in Indian Rupees in Burma, Sri Lanka, Russia, UAE, Singapore, Dubai and all Gulf countries

A webinar on ‘International Trade Agreement in Indian Rupee’ was organized by South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday 26th July, 2022 at 4:00 PM through Webex. In which Dr. Deepak Kumar, Executive Director, Reserve Bank of India-Mumbai gave important guidance to the entrepreneurs.

Dr. Deepak Kumar gave detailed information to the industrialists with reference to RBI Circular No. 10 (International Trade Agreement in Indian Rupees) issued on July 11. Information was given on how importers and exporters can take advantage of this circular of RBI. Also, there was a detailed discussion on the procedure to be followed to get the approval of RBI.

In addition, he advised traders to do export-import business in Indian Rupees in Burma, Sri Lanka, Russia, UAE, Singapore, Dubai and all Gulf countries. It was discussed that as UAE is a trading hub and especially textiles, diamonds and gems and jewelery are largely exported from Surat, there could also be possibilities of international trade in Indian Rupee.

Chamber President Himanshu Bodawala delivered the welcome address in the webinar. Devkishan Manghani, Advisor, Export Promotion and Foreign Trade Committee of the Chamber conducted the webinar and outlined the programme. Dr. Deepak Kumar gave a satisfactory answer in the webinar. In the end Ramesh Vaghasiya, Vice President of the Chamber, concluded the webinar by thanking everyone.
