Floor test rumors come true

Mushtaq Ahmed Yusuf, a well-known satirist of Pakistan, has written ‘The biggest flaw in the rumors of our country is that they turn out to be true’. This can be said literally about India. The latest case is of floor test in Maharashtra. Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has given time till 5 pm on Thursday, June 30, to the Maha Vikas Aghadi government of the state to prove its majority. For this, he has called a one-day special session of the Vidhan Sabha.

Several hours before the notification was issued by the Raj Bhavan, a letter went viral on social media, in which it was told that the Governor has called a special session of the Legislative Assembly on June 30, in which the government will have to prove its majority. When the letter went viral and discussions started all around, it was duly denied by the Raj Bhavan. It was said that no such letter has been issued by the Raj Bhavan. But only after a few hours, the rumor of that alleged fake letter turned out to be true. The Raj Bhavan called the assembly session on June 30 and asked the government to prove its majority.

Now the big question is whether the first letter was really fake or was it already kept ready in the Raj Bhavan? By the time the letter went viral on social media, the BJP had not called on the Governor to call a session or ask the government to prove its majority. Actually on Tuesday, BJP Legislature Party leader Devendra Fadnavis was in Delhi during the day. He had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and party’s national president JP Nadda. After returning from Delhi, he met the Governor late in the night and said that the government is in minority and it should be asked to prove its majority.

But even before this, the letter calling the session of the assembly and proving the majority had gone viral. From this it seems that everything was pre-planned and work is going according to that plan. When the number of rebel Shiv Sena MLAs in Guwahati exceeded two-thirds, or 37, it was decided when to call the assembly session and when to ask the government to prove its majority. His formalities were completed on Tuesday.
