World Championship: India’s ‘Golden Boy’ Neeraj Chopra created another history, won silver medal

India’s star player and Olympic champion golden boy Neeraj Chopra once again created history in the javelin throw event of the World Athletics Championships. Neeraj won the silver medal here. In the final of the World Athletics Championship being played in Eugene, USA, Grenada’s Anderson Peters won the gold, while Neeraj came second and won the silver medal.

Let us tell you that the final of the Men’s Javelin event started with Neeraj Chopra’s throw, but his first throw was fouled. Anderson Peters of Granada threw his first throw of 90.21 meters, which put more pressure on Neeraj. Neeraj Chopra threw his second throw of 82.39 meters, third throw he threw 86.37 meters and then in the fourth throw, Neeraj’s fourth throw of 88.13 metres. This throw confirmed his silver. Apart from Neeraj, Rohit Yadav also entered the finals in this championship. However, Rohit Yadav got out of the medal race in the final, staying at number 10.

It is worth noting that with this, after 19 years, the country has got a medal in this championship. Before Neeraj, Anju Bobby George won bronze in the long jump in 2003. Neeraj has become the first Indian athlete to win silver in this championship. Also, he is the first Indian male athlete to have won a medal in this championship.
