Five lakh reward Naxalite killed in encounter

Dantewada, A Maoist has been killed in an encounter between security forces and Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district today. The jawans of the District Reserve Police Force, who went out on a search, have killed a rewarded Maoist of 5 lakhs. The body of the slain Naxalite has been recovered.

The name of the Naxalite killed in the encounter with Superintendent of Police Sirdhath Tiwari is being told as Budhram Markam. According to the police, Budhram has been involved in many big Naxalite incidents in the area. He has more than 15 criminal cases registered against him in different police stations of Dantewada district.

He said that the police had received information about the presence of many Naxalites in the forests of Katekalyan police station area, on the basis of which the Dantewada District Reserve Police personnel went out on a search operation on Monday night. When the team of soldiers reached Rametta forest in return today, the Naxalites who were already ambushed there started firing on the soldiers.
