First phase of polling in Gujarat completed, 57 percent voting till 5 pm, now more…

Ahmedabad | Gujarat First Phase Polling: Voting for the first phase of the Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022, which started at 8 am, has ended at 5 pm. On Thursday i.e. today, out of 182 seats in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, voting was held for the first phase in 89 seats. In which the fate of 788 candidates was sealed in the EVM machine.

57 percent voting till 5 pm
Gujarat Polls 2022: Voting was held at a total of 14 thousand 382 polling stations for the first phase on Thursday. Of which 3311 are urban and 11,071 are rural areas. Barring a few sporadic incidents at several places and a few complaints of EVM malfunctioning, polling remained peaceful during the polling held today. According to the Election Commission, 57 percent of voting has been estimated till 5 pm. Still waiting for the final polling figures.

Now when will the second phase of voting happen?
After the peaceful completion of the first phase of the assembly elections, now the remaining seats will go to polls for the second phase on December 5. After which the counting of votes will take place on December 8 and the results will be announced.

BJP had won 99 seats in the last elections
Gujarat First Phase Polling: Would like to tell you that in the last assembly elections held in the year 2017, BJP had crossed the majority mark by winning 99 out of 182 seats. Whereas, Congress got 77 seats and Independents got 3 seats, apart from this BTP got 2 and NCP got one seat.
