Doha. Controversial Islamic cleric Zakir Naik has arrived at the FIFA World Cup 2022 at the invitation of Qatar. Where he is busy propagating Islam. Qatar is the first Muslim country to host the FIFA World Cup. Analysts say that Qatar is using the FIFA World Cup for ‘Mission Dawah’ to convert non-Muslims. Zakir Naik is also vigorously promoting Mission Dawah all over the world. In such a situation, analysts are not surprised by the coming together of Qatar and Zakir Naik.
According to the report of the Middle East Media Research Institute, Qatar, a prestigious organization based in Washington, USA, has invited Zakir Naik for an Islamic religious lecture related to Dawah. Dawah is an Islamic practice whereby non-Muslims are converted and invited to embrace Islam.
The organization said Mission Dawah appears to be an undeclared goal of Qatar during the FIFA World Cup. In fact, millions of fans are coming to watch football and Qatar is using it as an opportunity for religious conversion. Zakir Naik is wanted in India on charges of spreading hatred against non-Muslims and money laundering.
BJP boycotted
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Savio Rodrigues has urged the central government, Indian football associations, NRIs in Qatar and people traveling to Central Asia to discuss the ongoing FIFA World Cup after the Arab country invited controversial Islamic preacher Dr Zakir Naik. There has been an appeal to boycott the cup. Rodrigues said, ‘Dr. Zakir Naik is a wanted man under Indian law. He is accused of indulging in money laundering offenses and spreading hatred by giving inflammatory speeches. In fact he is no less than a terrorist. It has openly supported terrorist Osama bin Laden and has been instrumental in spreading Islamic fundamentalism and hatred in India.
