Fellow players are unable to believe R Ashwin’s retirement, see the reaction of many stalwarts including Kohli-Pujara
Indian team’s star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin retired from international cricket on Wednesday. He played his last international match for India in Adelaide. Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement in the press conference after the Gabba Test. During this time captain Rohit Sharma was also with him. Before retirement, Ashwin was seen sitting with Virat Kohli in the dressing room. During this, Kohli also hugged him. After Ashwin’s retirement, former cricketers and fellow players who played with him have reacted.
Ashwin was a part of Team India in the Adelaide Day Night Test. He got a chance to play only one match so far on the Australia tour, in which he took one wicket for 53 runs.
Whereas former Indian captain Virat Kohli said on Ashwin’s retirement, I have played with you for 14 years and when you told today that you are going to retire, it made me very emotional and the memories of old days were refreshed. Ash, I have enjoyed every moment spent with you. Your skill and match-winning contribution to Indian cricket is unmatched and you will always be remembered as a legend of Indian cricket. Rohit Sharma said in the press conference that, he was quite confident about his decision, we should respect his wish.
