Export of MP products to US increased

Bhopal. The export of products from Madhya Pradesh to the US has increased in the last three years. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said this during a discussion with the US Consulate General (Consulate General) Mitchell Hinkie. During the courtesy call of Chief Minister Chouhan to the US Consulate General (Consulate General) Mitchell Henkie, he also invited him for the Global Investor Summit to be held in January and said that ‘established in Rewa district in the field of renewable energy’. Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Power Project is a major project with a cost of Rs 4 thousand 500 crore and a capacity of 750 MW.

An initiative has been taken to set up a solar powered floating plant in Omkareshwar. In future, there is an idea to set up such plants on Bargi and Gandhi Sagar reservoirs also. Chief Minister Chouhan said that there is a huge potential for increasing cooperation between India and the US in various fields. The meeting is important to work on bilateral trade and investment priorities. There has been an increase in the exports from Madhya Pradesh to the US in the last three years. Exports were US$ 1.05 billion in the year 2019-20, while this figure increased to US$ 1.28 in the year 2020-21 and US$ 1.43 billion in the year 2021-22.

The main products that are exported from Madhya Pradesh to the US include Basmati rice, medicines, cotton textiles, edible oils etc. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh has a central and ideal role as an investment. About 60 percent of the country’s land area can be easily covered by Madhya Pradesh. There is regular interaction with the investors by the state government. The US and Madhya Pradesh have partnerships in the advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, machinery equipment, automobile, pharma and medical device sectors. This can be taken further by doing an MoU between the US and Madhya Pradesh’s government organization MPIDC and USTDA. (IANS)
