Equipped with missiles, specializes in dodging the enemy … Indigenous Light Combat Helicopter will join the army tomorrow


The Light Combat Helicopter has been specially designed to be deployed in high altitude areas. This helicopter has a seating capacity of two people. On Monday, it will be inducted in Jodhpur in the presence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) will formally induct the country-developed Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) into its fleet on Monday. This will further increase the strength of the Air Force. This Light Combat Helicopter is capable of firing multiple missiles and using weapons.

This helicopter has been developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).  The Light Combat Helicopter has been specially designed to be deployed in high altitude areas.  This helicopter has a seating capacity of two people.

Its weight is 5.8 tons.  Many types of missiles and weapons can be installed in it.  It can fly at a maximum speed of 268 kmph.  Its range is 550 km.  The length of this helicopter is 51.10 feet and height is 15.5 feet.

The use of many weapons has already been tested with this two-engine helicopter.  It has radar evasion feature, armored protection system, night attack and emergency landing capability.

Light Combat Helicopter can fly continuously for 3 hours 10 minutes at a time.  Can go up to a maximum height of 6500 feet.  Unguided bombs and grenade launchers can be installed in it.  These helicopters are capable of air-to-surface and air-to-air strikes.

In March this year, the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the purchase of 15 indigenously developed LCHs for Rs 3,887 crore.  Of these, 10 helicopters will be for the Air Force and five for the Army.
