Decisions that bring gender equality in the armed forces affect the entire psychology of society and the family, as well as the mentality of daughters being considered weak or inferior. These decisions create an environment to bring and advance equality in aspects such as education, health and nutrition of girls.

Be it the army or any other field, even today the presence of women is not easily accepted. Uncomfortable conditions regarding their increasing involvement still exist today. Collaborative behavior is also missing. There are attempts to create disturbances at every step. The tendency to delay or delay can be seen everywhere from home to office, even if obstacles cannot be put in place.

These things were recently said by the country’s Supreme Court during the hearing of a petition seeking permission to allow women candidates to appear in the NDA exam. In this decision, which has taken a new line of education of daughters and eradicating gender discrimination, the Supreme Court, while issuing an important interim order, not only allowed women candidates to appear in the National Defense Academy (NDA) examination, but also said That the army itself should show openness.

Why wait for the intervention of the court for everything? Significantly, the apex court has held the Army’s policy decision regarding the NDA exam as discriminatory in terms of gender equality. However, now after the interim order of the court, women will be able to take the entrance examination of the National Defense Academy to be held in the coming September. This decision of the Supreme Court will prove to be important in the direction of removing gender discrimination.

In fact, in this case also it has come to the fore once again that daughters are working hard to register their presence in every field, but the environment of ease regarding their participation has not yet been created. The delay in increasing the participation of women in the army is also an example of this. Whereas in the landmark judgment of the Supreme Court in February last year, deeming women eligible for command deployment, the court had also directed the central government to ensure that they are given permanent commission.

The Supreme Court’s decision to give permanent commission to women officers in the army was a matter of giving equality to women in the true sense. In this important decision, the Supreme Court had said that all women officers who want to choose this option should be given permanent commission in the army within three months. The court had termed as disappointing the government’s argument that it cited physical capabilities and social norms for not granting command postings to women. The court said that depriving women of this opportunity on the basis of social and psychological reasons is not only discriminatory but also unacceptable.

Broadly speaking, the root cause of all discrimination faced by women in our socio-family structure is the underestimation of their physical abilities and their being considered backward on the social front. It would not be wrong to say that despite our ability and ability, the sense of equality is still missing for women who live the pain of being left behind on many fronts due to being a woman. Whereas in the last few years, women have proved themselves on every front. From space to being the voice of social issues, many achievements have come not only in our own part, but also in the part of the country.

In such a situation, the decisions to expand their participation can prove to be giving a new direction to the thinking of the society. It is worth mentioning that till now women are not recruited in NDA and Naval Academy in our country. In such a situation, the big question is, why in this era of progressive thinking and technological changes why deserving and aspiring women candidates have been prevented from getting admission in the National Defense Academy on the basis of their gender discrimination till now? Not only this, before the court’s decision last year on granting permanent commission, there have been many hurdles in the entry of women in leadership roles.

The lives of half the population await change on almost every front. The news of regressive thinking and Tughlaqi decrees from every corner of the country regarding women keeps on coming day by day. It is sad that without getting out of this thinking, discrimination and second-class status will persist not only in the domestic but also in the working environment. This is the reason why the Supreme Court has asked the Indian Army to change the primitive mindset of not giving opportunities to women in the National Defense Academy and Sainik Schools.

Keep in mind that avenues for girls to study in Sainik Schools have also opened recently. On the occasion of Independence Day, the Prime Minister had announced the enrollment of girl students in Sainik School. It is worth considering that girls are getting this right after more than half a century of independence. Whereas girls are now waving the flag of success in every field with education, conscious thoughts and the power to fulfill their dreams. In the same year, women pilots of Air India set the record for the longest flight in the world.

This team of women pilots had reached Bangalore from San Francisco on the world’s longest air route over the North Pole. Shortly before, for the first time in the Indian Navy, two women officers were deployed on a war ship. Women getting this important responsibility in the Navy is a historic change and a new beginning on the front related to women’s participation in the military fields.

Now women pilots are also being trained to fly Rafale aircraft who have joined the Indian Air Force. For the first time in the Army, the way for women officers to become pilots is open. Apart from the army, women have also played a big role in the important missions of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in recent years. After playing an important role in the crew of Mars mission, now women power has got a special place in the team of Gaganyaan Mission-2022.

Women are an important part of the human resource of the country. Be it the playground, politics or the world of knowledge and science, the role of women cannot be ignored. In fact, it is necessary to increase the participation of women for proper social and economic development in the country, society and family. In such a situation, every new step related to positive change and strong participation in the working areas deeply affects the situation related to the mind and life of women.

Decisions that bring gender equality in the armed forces affect the entire psychology of society and the family, as well as the mentality of daughters being considered weak or inferior. These decisions create an environment to bring and advance equality in aspects such as education, health and nutrition of girls. Not only at home, but also in the office, they force to think about their needs and conveniences. All such aspects form a solid foundation for changing the second-class attitude towards half the population. Undoubtedly, this decision of the court carries a positive message of changing attitudes and behavior towards girls and increasing the respectful acceptance of their participation in every field of work.
