At the same time Jonny Bairstow (30 runs in 21 balls) and Sam Billings (27 not out off 17 balls) also played useful innings. Leg spinner Ish Sodhi was the most successful bowler for New Zealand. He took three wickets for 26 runs.
In response, the New Zealand team was bundled out for 150 runs in 19.2 overs despite Martin Guptill’s knock of 41 runs in 20 balls. For England, fast bowler Mark Wood took four for 23 while leg-spinner Adil Rashid took three wickets for 18 runs.
