England overtakes India thanks to Ollie Pope’s brilliant innings, taking a lead of 36 runs

England vs India 4th Test: Thanks to the brilliant batting of Ollie Pope, England have made a comeback in the fourth Test being played at The Oval. Till the tea break, England scored 227 runs for seven wickets. With this, he has also taken a lead of 36 runs.

India had once dropped England for five wickets for 62 runs. But after this Ollie Pope shared a partnership of 89 runs with Jonny Bairstow 37. After this, Pope shared a 71-run partnership for the seventh wicket with Moeen Ali 35.

Bairstow faced 77 balls and hit seven fours. At the same time, Ali also hit seven fours in his innings of 71 balls. Pope is playing on 74 runs in 147 balls with the help of six fours. Chris Woakes is present on the crease with him after scoring four runs.

Earlier, England started playing 53 runs for three wickets today and David Malan scored 26 runs and Craig Overton took their innings by one run. But at the beginning of the day’s play, Umesh gave England the fourth blow by dismissing Overton (1). After this, Malan also could not last long and Umesh also made him his victim. Malan scored 31 runs in 67 balls with the help of five fours.

Umesh Yadav has taken three wickets for India so far. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah has got two successes. Apart from this, Mohammad Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja got one wicket each.
