Inauguration of Lata Mangeshkar Chowk

Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on the 93rd birth anniversary of music queen ‘Bharat Ratna’ Lata Mangeshkar inaugurated a Chowk named after her in Ayodhya.

The Chief Minister inaugurated Lata Mangeshkar Chowk in the presence of Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy at an event organized on Wednesday. According to official sources, the Lata Mangeshkar crossroads, located on the banks of the Saryu river in Ayodhya, has been built at a cost of Rs 7.9 crore. A 40 feet long and 12 meters high Veena weighing 14 tons has been installed at this intersection. Ayodhya Development Authority Secretary Satyendra Singh told that the Veena installed at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk has been constructed by Padma Shri Ram Sutar within two months.

It is worth noting that after the death of Lata Mangeshkar in February last, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the name of the main square of Ayodhya after Lata Mangeshkar. According to official sources, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was constantly monitoring the construction of Lata Mangeshkar Chowk and at a rapid pace, Lata Mangeshkar Chowk has been constructed. Nayaghat Square in Ayodhya will now be known as Lata Mangeshkar Chowk. (Language)
