Effect of new variant of Corona, only 25% spectators will get entry in Wankhede for Mumbai Test

IND vs NZ 2nd Test: The second Test match between India and New Zealand will be played from December 3 to 7 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Earlier, the Maharashtra government has fixed the maximum limit of spectators in the match on Saturday. The state government has issued an order for only 25% spectator capacity at the Wankhede Stadium.

Wankhede Stadium has a capacity of 33,000 spectators. That is, now only 8,250 spectators will be able to watch the second Test match by going to the stadium. There is now a decline in the cases of corona in Maharashtra and Mumbai. But the state government is taking precautions when new variants come to the fore in South Africa.

Milind Narvekar, PA to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and chairman of the Mumbai Cricket Association, has said, “Keeping in mind the new Korana variant found in South Africa, the Maharashtra government is taking great care in crowded events. Still, we are grateful to the government for allowing 25% spectators in the Mumbai Test. Maharashtra government’s Revenue and Forest Department, Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation Department has issued an order on Saturday saying that only 25 percent people can participate in any program held in open space.
