ED’s entry in Jharkhand MLA cash case

Zero was lodged at Argora Police Station in Ranchi by Congress MLA Jaimangal Singh alias Anoop Singh on suspicion and allegations of crores of rupees transactions to topple the government of Jharkhand. Taking the basis of the FIR, ED has started investigation of money laundering case. While registering a case in this regard, the ED has accused three Congress MLAs Dr Irfan Ansari, Rajesh Kachhap and Naman Vixal Kongadi. These three MLAs were arrested on July 30 in Howrah with Rs 45 lakh.

The day after the arrest of the three MLAs, Jaimangal Singh alias Anoop Singh, the MLA of the same party, lodged a zero FIR on July 31 at Argora police station in Ranchi. MLA Anoop Singh had alleged in the FIR that the three MLAs, along with BJP leaders, conspired to topple the government of the Grand Alliance led by Hemant Soren in Jharkhand. According to Anoop Singh, to topple the government, through these fellow MLAs, he was being offered Rs 10 crore and a ministerial post. Congress MLA Anoop had said in his complaint that Irfan Ansari, Rajesh Kachhap and Vixal Kongadi were calling him to Kolkata.

He was told that Rs 10 crore was to be given per MLA for toppling the government. According to Anoop, Irfan Ansari and Rajesh Kachhap wanted him to go to Kolkata. From there they would take him to Guwahati and meet him with Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and assure him of a ministerial post. Anoop had also said in his FIR that he was informed that Himanta Biswa Sarma was doing all this with the blessings and consent of the top leaders of the party.

Here, in this case, the three MLAs – Dr. Irfan Ansari, Rajesh Kachhap and Naman Vixal Kongadi were granted regular bail by the Kolkata High Court on Thursday. Earlier, he was given provisional bail, according to the terms of which he was not allowed to leave Kolkata and go elsewhere. However, now when the three MLAs have got permission to come to Jharkhand in this case, they are now sure to face the ED. According to sources, these three can be called soon for questioning.
