Easily check your city’s pollution level with these apps and websites
How to Check AQI : Like every year, this time too after Diwali, the problem of air pollution has increased in most of the city areas of the country. The worst situation is in North India. Air quality has deteriorated due to increase in pollution and people are facing difficulty in breathing. According to the Air Quality Index (AQI) data released by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), most of the cities are in very poor condition. Due to this poison dissolved in the air, doctors are refusing to leave the house unnecessarily. In this article, we will tell you how to measure AQI and from where you can see the level of AQI.
This is how AQI is measured
There are 8 standards to measure air pollution (pollutants PM10, PM2.5, nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, ozone, ammonia and lead). The most important of these are PM-2.5 and PM-10. These numbers are the highest. PM-2.5, PM-10 and any one other parameter are included while measuring the air quality index. It only has a standard, no measurement unit, while PM-2.5 and PM-10 are measured in micrograms per cubic meter. The pollution caused by burning of anything, contains PM-2.5 and PM-10 in dust particles. This is how AQI is measured.
Air purity is evaluated on this basis
Air purity is assessed between 0 and 500 points. AQI ranging from 1 to 50 is considered to be of good quality. An AQI ranging from 51 to 100 is considered satisfactory. An AQI between 101 and 200 is considered moderately polluted. This condition is not good for sick people. An AQI between 201 and 300 is considered to be of poor quality. This can be harmful for everyone. An AQI between 301 and 400 is considered serious. In this situation even a healthy person can become ill. An AQI between 401 to 500 is considered very severe and it becomes difficult to breathe. This can lead to many diseases.
