Bais, who was in his home district Raipur to celebrate Diwali, told a news channel’s correspondent on Wednesday that an ‘atom bomb’ could explode in Jharkhand at any time. When Bais was asked whether allies of the Soren government in Jharkhand have accused him of being involved in a conspiracy to destabilize the state government, he said, “If there was an intention to destabilize my government, I would follow the recommendation of the Election Commission.” could have taken a decision based on that. But I don’t want to take any action out of revenge or to defame anyone.

Bais said, since I am holding a constitutional post, I have to protect the Constitution. To follow the constitution. No one should point fingers at me that they have done this out of revenge. That’s why I’ve asked for ‘another opinion’. However, he did not elaborate on the EC’s recommendation and did not specify from whom the second opinion was sought.

Asked whether any major decision would come out after getting another opinion, the governor said, “There is a ban on crackers in Delhi. But crackers are not banned in Jharkhand. A few ‘atom bombs’ may explode.

The Election Commission on August 25 sent its decision to the Jharkhand Governor following a petition by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to disqualify Soren from the assembly membership in the office of profit case. Though the decision of the Election Commission is yet to be made public, the buzz is that the commission has recommended disqualification of the Chief Minister as an MLA in the mining lease case.

Amid such speculations in the state, Chief Minister Hemant Soren on 15th of this month had said that this is probably for the first time in the history of the country that the ‘criminal’ is repeatedly asking what crime he has committed and if he has committed the crime. Tell his punishment, but he is being punished in a way by not telling him his crime.

Last month, the Soren government won a trust vote in the assembly amid fears of horse-trading of MLAs of the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress to topple the government in Jharkhand. During this, legislators of the opposition National Democratic Alliance (NDA) staged a walkout from the house. (Language)
