Jakarta. At least 56 people were killed in a massive earthquake in Indonesia on Monday. More than seven hundred people are injured. People came out in panic in the surrounding areas including the capital Jakarta. The buildings have been evacuated. According to the news agency, the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.6 and its center was in Cianjur, Java. An official said that 20 people died in the same hospital. Due to this, apprehension is being expressed that the death toll may increase.
Some videos of the earthquake are being shared on social media. Broken buildings, debris and damaged cars are visible in these. An official said- We appeal to the people to stay out of their buildings for the time being, as there is a possibility of aftershocks. Ambulance sirens are heard continuously in the capital Jakarta. The Quick Response Team of the Government of Indonesia is monitoring the situation.
