Afghanistan got off to a stellar start in the T20 World Cup, thrashed Scotland by 130 runs

AFG vs SCO Match Result: Afghanistan Cricket Team has made a great start to its journey in the T20 World Cup by defeating Scotland. Afghanistan, batting first, had given a big target of 191 runs to Scotland, which the opposition team could not achieve and got all out for just 60 runs. Afghanistan’s batsman and bowler both performed brilliantly in the match. The match was one-sided and from start to finish, Afghanistan kept the pressure on Scotland and won the match.

Afghanistan batsman Najibullah Zadran played a half-century innings of 59 runs, while Mujeeb ur Rahman took five wickets and scattered the Scotland team. Star spinner Rashid Khan also took 4 wickets. After the Taliban took over the country, the team did not get enough time to prepare for the World Cup, but still the players showed a great game.

After this, Mark Watt clean bowled Jajai and sent him back to the pavilion. Then came on the field, Jardan and Gurbaz made a great partnership of 87 runs in 52 balls. In the end, Mohammad Nabi took the 11 game team’s score to 190 runs in 4 balls. Safyan Sharif took the highest two wickets for Scotland. Mark Watt and Josh Davy took 1-1 wickets, while other bowlers proved to be very expensive in front of Afghanistan’s batsmen.

Scotland’s batsmen were a complete flop
The performance of the Scottish batsmen was very disappointing. Opener George Munsi scored the highest 25 runs for the team. Five batsmen of the team could not even open the account. Only three batsmen could touch the double figure from the side of the team. For Afghanistan, Mujeeb ur Rahman took 5 wickets, while Rashid Khan took 4 wickets. Apart from these, Naveen-ul-Haq took one wicket.
