Rajshree Sancheti Win Gold Medal in Shooting: Delhi’s Rajshree Sancheti won the women’s 10m air rifle gold medal at the 64th National Shooting Championship on Tuesday. Rajshree topped the eight-shooter final with a score of 251.8. She beat Himachal Pradesh’s Jeena Khita, who won the silver medal, by 1.6 points. Local contender Shreya Agarwal won the bronze medal after 22 shots in the final of 24 shots with a score of 227.7.

The Junior Women’s 10m Air Rifle title went to Tamil Nadu’s R Narmada Nitin who made a record score of 252.1 in the finals of the National Championships. Jeena also finished second in this competition. The pair of Meiraj Ahmed and Ariba Khan won the mixed skeet team title in Patiala. The pair defeated Gurjot Singh and Ganimat Sekhon of Punjab in the shoot-off. Both the pairs had earlier scored the same 34 points. The Uttar Pradesh pair registered a 4-3 win in the shoot-off. Vijayveer Sandhu of Punjab won the gold medal in 25m standard pistol at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi.

How did the other players perform?

Olympian and former world number 1 Elavenil Valarivan finished 12th with a score of 626.8. She missed the final by 0.6 points. At the same time, Olympian and world record holder Apurvi Chandela was down 98.7 in the fifth series and finished 167th with a total of 617.3. World Championship silver medalist Anjum Moudgil finished 35th with a score of 623.8.
