Delhi beat Chennai by 3 wickets in a thrilling match, Shikhar Dhawan played an innings of 39 runs

CSK vs DC Match 50 Result: Delhi Capitals (DC) occupied the top spot in the points table by defeating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 3 wickets in the 50th match of IPL (IPL 2021) played at Dubai International Stadium. Delhi captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, CSK had scored 136 for five in 20 overs, in response to which Delhi’s team achieved the target in 19.4 overs by losing 7 wickets. Both the teams have already qualified for the playoffs. The thrill of this match lasted till the last over. Shikhar Dhawan played the highest innings of 39 runs for Delhi. While Shimron Hetmyer scored 28 not out.

Such was the thrill of the first innings
Openers Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad opened the innings. The partnership between the two batsmen was only 28 runs. Akshar gave the first blow to CSK by dismissing Du Plessis (10). After this, Robin Uthappa, playing his first match in this season, came to bat. Norkhia sent Ruturaj to the pavilion. Gaikwad scored 13 runs. After this Moeen Ali (5) and Uthappa (19) were dismissed after scoring runs. Then Ambati Rayudu and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni took over the innings and scored 70 runs in 64 balls for the fifth wicket between the two. During this, Rayudu also completed his half-century. Avesh Khan gave a blow to CAK by dismissing Dhoni (18). After this, Ravindra Jadeja and Rayudu, who came to bat, batted till the end of the innings. Rayudu scored an unbeaten 55 off 43 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes, while Jadeja remained unbeaten on one run. For Delhi, Axar Patel took 2, while Enrique Norkhia, Avesh Khan and Ravichandran Ashwin took one wicket each.

Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan did the opening for Delhi. The team got the first blow on the score of 24 runs, when Prithvi got out after scoring 18 runs. After this Shreyas Iyer came and he could contribute only 2 runs. Then Dhawan took over the innings with Rishabh Pant. Pant got out after scoring 15 runs. After this, the wickets kept falling and at one time it seemed as if the match was out of Delhi’s hands, but in the end Shimron Hetmyer batted carefully and scored an unbeaten 28 runs to give victory to the team. For Chennai, Ravindra Jadeja 2, Shardul Thakur 2, Deepak Chahar 1, Dwayne Bravo 1 and Josh Hazlewood took one wicket.
