Decisive Battle in Eastern Ukraine

Kyiv. One hundred days after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, fighting in eastern Ukraine has reached a crucial stage. Russia has fielded more troops to completely capture the Luhansk region of eastern Ukraine. Ukraine, on the other hand, has also brought in more soldiers and fighters, which is fighting Russian troops in the street in Svyrodonsk. Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message that the number of Ukrainian troops had increased and they were not going to surrender.

On the other hand, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has claimed to have annexed 97 percent of Luhansk’s territory. Luhansk Governor Sherry Haidai said on Tuesday that Russian troops have occupied the industrial area on the Svirodonsk coast. It is a major city in the Luhansk region controlled by Ukraine. The governor said – a fierce battle is going on in the streets of Svyrodonsk, which has changed the meaning of success. The situation is constantly changing, but Ukrainian troops are giving a befitting reply to the attacks.

Significantly, Russia wants to take control of the entire Donbass region in eastern Ukraine, including the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Russia has better weapons, but Ukraine claims its best-trained troops are capable of countering Russian attacks. But Russian troops are launching fierce attacks to decisively capture the entire region. Luhansk governor Haidia said Russian troops were also bombing local markets, schools and colleges.

Meanwhile, China’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Mission, Ambassador Dai Bing, issued a challenge to Western countries over reports that the United States and Britain had provided long-range missiles and weapons to Ukraine. On Monday, he warned against continuing arms supply to Ukraine and imposing sanctions against Russia. In a meeting of the UN Security Council, Bing said – the international community should restore peace and encourage Ukraine and Russia to start talks. Providing arms and imposing sanctions will not solve the problem, but may prolong the war.
