In a court in the Khowai district of Tripura 40-year-old man had two daughters last year, elder brother, Sentenced to death for the murder of five people, including a police inspector and a passerby. The court of District and Sessions Judge Sankari Das pronounced the death sentence on Wednesday after hearing arguments.
Public prosecutor Bikas Deb said, Initially it appeared that Pradeep Debroy was mentally ill, But later the doctors certified that he was mentally fit. The court delivered its verdict in less than a year. Debroy, a resident of North Ramchandraghat area of the district and a daily wage laborer by profession last year 26 In the midnight of November suddenly turned violent and killed his two daughters Aditi and Mandira with an iron rod.
Assistant Inspector General Jyotishman Das Chowdhary said that when his elder brother Amlesh Debroy came to the spot, So killed him too. He told that after killing three family members, Debroy came on the road and started attacking passers-by, As a result of which two persons traveling on the rickshaw suffered serious injuries. One of these persons, Krishna Das, died at Khowai Hospital.
He said that on receiving information about the bloodshed on the road by Debroy, Khowai police station in-charge Satyajit Mallick along with a police team reached the spot and tried to take him into custody. During this, Debroy attacked Mallick and he later died in a government hospital in Agartala. Eventually, the police took him into custody. Police after speedy investigation of the heinous murder case presented the charge sheet in the court. Although, Why did Debroy suddenly turn violent on the night of the incident?, Couldn’t find out.
