  • Living in Mumbai is not easy, it is difficult for a common man to run a household
  • The pain of startup startups spilled at an annual conference organized by Tycon
  • Government should get Startup City built in the city

Living in Mumbai is not everyone’s business. Now leave this to the common man, even the founders of big companies have accepted it. There was a time when Mumbai was the favorite place of businessmen and everyone wanted to come to Mumbai for their business. But now this city is starting to disappoint the businessmen. If seen, this city is structurally very densely populated and at the same time it is so expensive to live here that a common man’s life is lost in running the household expenses.

An annual convention was organized by tycon TiEcon at Jio Convention Center at Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. Where the founders of various startups were speaking. The event was attended by over 50 speakers along with 20 Unicorn founders. All the founders also agreed that the city of Mumbai is very expensive.

Ashish Hemrajani, founder and CEO, Book My Show, said people are moving out of the city due to lack of community-building capacity. This adversely affects the talented people. These include technologists who are moving to better and cheaper destinations for their children’s future.

Mumbai is better and worse

Hemrajani also said that Mumbai has 20 unicorns (startups with a valuation of over $1 billion) and the city has its advantages but the challenges it faces have to be tackled so that the city remains relevant. “We have to put in a lot of effort to attract talent and for new businesses to flourish,” he said.

Anupam Mittal of Shaadi.com also fully agrees that the cost of living in the city is a real challenge. He said that the area in the eastern part of the city should be developed by the government as a ‘startup city’. Anupam Mittal is currently seen in the show “Shark Tank” on the business module.
