The machinery that will be installed at the Hallmarking Center to check the purity of the jewelery will be equipped with such a system that all the jewelery details will be updated directly on the BIS site.

BIS hallmarking mandatory on jewelery

Let us tell you that BIS hallmarking has been made mandatory by the central government on jewelery to ensure that jewelery buyers do not get cheated of any kind and they get pure metal jewelery. For which all the jewelery is checked in the hallmarking center. At the center all the data is generated by performing various processes on jewelery which contains some percentage of gold, silver or other metals. After testing, a HUID number is generated for each piece of jewelery which is written on the jewelery with a laser and the information is uploaded on the BIS website. In the current system, the data is updated after the jewelry is tested on the machine. In which there was a possibility of change in the information of jewelry. But the government is also trying to bring accuracy in this direction.

Customers will be able to get all the information about their jewelery from BIS website

In the coming days, a system will be installed on the machine and tested at the hallmarking center so that all the data can be uploaded directly on the BIS website. Also, there will be no possibility of change with the information in it. Customers can get all the information about their jewelery by entering the HUID number on the BIS website. Jewelers say that with the introduction of the new system, jewelery buyers will get all the correct information about their jewelery and fraud will come down.

All data available on BIS site

In this regard, Vivek Sojitra, director of the Hallmarking Center said that after a thorough examination of the jewelery at the Hallmarking Center, arrangements have been made to update the report on the BIS site. However, in the coming days, the report along with the examination of the jewelery will be automatically uploaded on the BIS site. The new system is very strict, according to which no one can change the report even if they think so.
