CRPF jawan martyred in Chhattisgarh

Bijapur district superintendent of police Anjaneya Varshney said that CRPF jawan Satpal Singh was killed in a landmine explosion at around 6.30 pm on the banks of Chintawgu river flowing near Dharamaram village under Pamed police station area of ​​the district. Varshney said that the soldiers of the 196th Battalion of CRPF were sent on patrol.

When the jawans were close to the Chintawgu river, a landmine exploded and Singh was killed in the incident. After the incident, the body of the jawan was fished out and it is being sent to Bijapur, the police officer said. Singh was a native of Haryana. It is not yet clear whether Singh died after being hit by a pressure bomb or the Maoists detonated an IED kept there, a police official said. Naxalites use both the techniques to harm the security forces in the area.
