In this letter written on August 5, he has directed the states that it is important to ensure adequate testing in all the districts of the states while maintaining a balance between RT-PCR and antigen test. He has said that the states should closely monitor the districts with high number of cases and high positivity rate to contain the spread of infection and for effective case management.
In his letter to the Delhi government, Rajesh Bhushan said that the average daily new cases in the capital for the last one month is 811, with the highest number of 2202 new cases being reported on August 5. Equally important is the genome sequencing of identified samples of international travelers as well as collection of samples from surveillance sites and local clusters of new COVID-19 cases, he said.
