Congress thinking from today

Udaipur. The Congress party, which is facing the biggest political crisis in its 137-year history, will reflect on its future for the next three days from Friday. In Udaipur, Rajasthan, the process of reaching veteran Congress leaders started from Thursday itself. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is camping in Udaipur and is taking stock of the preparations for the party’s Nav Sankalp Shivir. Four hundred party leaders will contemplate on many important issues including changes in party organization and election preparations. Party President Sonia Gandhi has said that the party will make new resolutions.

It is being told that in this three-day contemplation camp, the issue of making Rahul Gandhi the Congress President will once again arise and a decision can also be taken on that. It is noteworthy that the election of the Congress President is to be held in August-September. Before this contemplation camp, election strategist Prashant Kishor had given a presentation to revive the Congress, many points of which will be discussed in this meeting. In this Chintan Shivir, the reasons for the defeat of the Congress in the recently held five states and preparations for the 2024 elections will also be discussed.

The Chintan Shivir on Friday will begin with Sonia Gandhi’s speech and end with Rahul Gandhi’s speech. After Sonia Gandhi’s speech on the first day, the leaders involved in the committees formed on different issues will communicate. After this, the report will be prepared by these committees on May 14. Significantly, the Congress President had formed six committees for agriculture, social empowerment, youth and empowerment, economic, political and organizational issues. The reports of these empowered committees will be accepted after discussion. The Congress Working Committee meeting will be held on May 15, the last day of the Chintan Shivir, and the camp will be concluded after the meeting. After that a Congress rally is also planned.

Rahul Gandhi is going by train to attend the Chintan Shivir. For the rest of the leaders, the Congress has prepared four helipads in Udaipur. Apart from the airport helipad, helipads have been built around Ananta Resort, Taj Aravali and Lemon Tree. Apart from these three hotels, the leaders will also stay at Radisson Blu. A dome has been prepared at the Taj Aravalli for meeting about five hundred leaders at once.
