Composer Dabboo Malik fulfills his (20 years) dream of singing a duet with raga-queen Alka Yagnik

Talented composer Dabboo says, “Thanks to the revered Salim-sahib (Salman Khan’s father) who made me realize my potential as a good musician, I have moved from acting-on-screen to composing for films. diverged. In fact, Salim-sahib’s extremely talented sons Salman Khan-bhai, Sohail-bhai and Arbaaz-bhai were all very supportive. Back in the new millennium, I started composing for historical musical films like Maine Dil Tujhko Diya (2002) starring Sohail Khan with Sameera Reddy. In this film, my evergreen song ‘Thoda Sa Pyaar Hua Hai’ sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik was a sensation and garnered over 70 million views on YouTube. After this I also co-composed for several other films including Salman Khan starrer ‘Tumko Na Bhool Payenge’ (2002). But my secret dream was always to do playback singing for Shah Rukh Khan and sing a duet with Alka Yagnik. But my aspiration to sing as a ‘playback’ somehow never materialised, even in films of the bygone era, where I was a co-composer.”
