Chris Woakes and Mark Wood return for 4th Test against India, Jos Buttler ruled out

IND vs ENG: England have included all-rounder Chris Woakes in their squad for the fourth Test against India. Also wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler has withdrawn from the next Test match due to personal reasons. Butler’s second child is about to be born, so he will not take part in the next match of the series. Also, fast bowler Mark Wood, who was out of the third Test due to injury, has also returned to the team for the fourth Test.

Chris Woakes played his last Test in August last year. He was ruled out of the first three Test matches of the series against India due to a fall from the stairs. Now he is fully fit for the fourth Test to be played at The Oval. On the other hand, Jonny Bairstow will take over the wicketkeeping responsibility in the fourth Test in place of Butler, while Sam Billings has been included in the squad of 16 players as his cover.

Chris Silverwood wishes Butler and his family

Tells the return of Chris Woakes and Wood good for the team

On the return of Chris Woakes, Silverwood said, "We are very happy to have Chris Woakes back in the Test squad. In the last one week, he has bowled well while playing for county side Warwickshire. He is very important for us, as well as bowling, Woakes also has the ability to score fast runs for us in the middle order. It is great to see him preparing for the Oval Test."

Also he said, "Mark Wood has also recovered from an injury sustained during the second Test. For the remaining Test matches of the series, we now have many players to include in the playing XI. Which is a very good thing."
