China: 17 killed in restaurant fire

Changchun. At least 17 people were killed and three others were injured after a fire broke out at a restaurant in Changchun, the capital of China’s Jilin province. Local officials gave this information on Wednesday. Officials said that the fire broke out in the Changchun Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone at around 12.40 pm and around 17 people died in its grip. Rescue and fire brigade personnel reached the spot and brought the fire under control after a lot of effort. The injured were admitted to a local hospital and the cause of the incident is being investigated, he said.
