Raipur, May 3: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday performed soil worship by wearing a dhoti kurta in the traditional dress of a typical Chhattisgarhi farmer, as per the tradition of Mati Puja of Chhattisgarh on Akti festival and also performed the paddy sowing ceremony. . In the Engineering College campus of Raipur, he took out five handfuls of paddy from the kothi and handed it over to Baiga. Baiga worshiped Mother Earth and Thakur Dev and handed over the seed of paddy to the Chief Minister for sowing. Praising Mother Earth, the Chief Minister sprinkled paddy seeds. The Chief Minister administered the oath to the people present on the occasion to adopt organic farming to preserve and enhance the fertility of the land. He also plowed the field with a tractor.

After this, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, while addressing the program of Akti Tihar and Mati Pujan Diwas organized in the Agricultural College campus, said that the culture and tradition of Chhattisgarh is based on science, we need to move ahead in the agriculture field, the culture tradition and modern technology of the state. will have to use. For this, the state government is making every effort to do the best work possible.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also announced to set up Mechanical Skill Development Center in all the divisions. He inaugurated the Swami Vivekananda Agricultural College Engineering and Technology Research Center building in the university campus. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel laid the foundation stone of Doppler technology for accurate weather forecasting. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel also launched Krishi Rozgar mobile application developed by Agricultural University. Progressive farmers were honored by the Chief Minister. Along with this, checks for seed kits, agricultural machines and grant money were also provided under various schemes. Best wishes to the meritorious students of the university by giving them certificates.

The Chief Minister was welcomed by Mr. Chamar Singh Patel, a farmer of Saraipali, with a garland of turmeric and Dr. Gajendra Chandrakar, a senior scientist of the Agricultural University, by wearing a garland of makhana. The Chief Minister also honored Chhattisgarhi language poet Mir Ali Mir. Mir Ali Mir recited poetry on the importance of Akti Tihar on the culture and tradition of Chhattisgarh. Giving best wishes on Akti Tihar, Parshuram Jayanti and Eid, Chief Minister Baghel further said that we have to adopt the good things of the ancient tradition of Chhattisgarh and move forward with the use of modern technology. For this, commendable work is being done by Indira Gandhi Agricultural University for the last 35 years. Appreciating the agricultural scientists here, he said that in 35 years more than 100 excellent varieties of paddy have been produced, as well as the seeds of more than 23,000 different varieties of paddy of Chhattisgarh have been preserved and kept safe in the university. He said that the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology has also been started to promote agricultural technology. With this, new agricultural machines will also be available for modern technology.

Referring to the tradition of worshiping soil by the farmers of Chhattisgarh on the occasion of Akti, the Chief Minister said that we have to save the agricultural land. If we take care of the health of the soil, then it will maintain the fertility of the soil and our health will also be protected. He said that the soil is getting hard due to the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Toxic substances are increasing in the soil, which reach our body through the produce and cause many diseases including cancer, hypertension. He urged the farmers to make maximum use of vermi compost. Adopting organic farming will serve the human society along with serving the mother earth and livestock.

The Chief Minister said that agricultural scientists should develop small processing units of agricultural produce and minor forest produce. Also try to reduce the cost of production of agricultural products. He said that our biggest goal should be good collection of the produce, good price to the collectors and farmers, value addition in the produce and maximum employment to the people. Along with this, a good system of selling the produce should also be developed. Baghel said that today the whole world is worried about global warming.

Referring to Chhattisgarh’s four symbols Narva, Garwa, Ghuruwa, Bari, he said that by implementing this scheme under Suraji Gaon Yojana, Chhattisgarh has found a way to get rid of climate change. The Chief Minister said that manure is being prepared by securing cattle and purchasing cow dung in Gauthans. Organic farming will be encouraged due to availability of manure in the village itself. Apart from this, a plan has also been prepared to make medicine from cow urine. Gopalak farmers will also get benefit from this.

Presiding over the program, Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the work of saving and carrying forward the culture and tradition of Chhattisgarh was organized today under his guidance. It will be organized extensively in the coming time. He said that out of the budget of one lakh 4 thousand crores of the state, 27 thousand crores is going into the accounts of farmers. A provision of Rs 6,000 crore has been made in the budget for Rural Industrial Park. Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Dr. Girish Chandel also addressed.
