Gay Marriage Court : The Center in its affidavit said that the applicants are trying to gain sympathy through live telecast of the proceedings. It was said that the delivery of justice has no bearing on the number of people who watch court proceedings or ‘subscribe’ to YouTube channels showing such proceedings. It has been said in the affidavit that the comparison of India with ‘live streaming’ of court proceedings in countries like US, UK, Australia, Brazil, China and South Africa is wrong. The court is hearing petitions filed by several same-sex couples, seeking a declaration of recognition of their marriages under the Special Marriage Act, the Hindu Marriage Act and the Foreign Marriage Act.
