The BCCI informed by tweeting that the toss of the match is getting delayed. The pitch will be inspected at 9:30 am. BCCI wrote on Twitter, “Toss has been delayed. Pitch will be inspected at 9.30 am.” After this, in another tweet, BCCI said that the inspection will be done again at 10:30.

The threat of rain hovering over the match

Meteorologists had already predicted that rain could become a hindrance in this match. Mumbai’s unseasonal monsoon can disrupt the first day’s play of the second Test between India and New Zealand. The pitch of Wankhede Stadium is expected to be bowler friendly due to rain. On Wednesday, due to rain throughout the day, both the teams were forced to cancel their training sessions.
