Usually, whenever a big leader means a minister VVIP Security is breached. So the security, intelligence staff at the bottom rung are immediately ‘measured’ by making them accused. So that the blame of negligence in security does not burst on the head of any responsible officer. Here I am mentioning but quite the opposite of that true story in which, Prime minister His close confidant-relative a senior in the deadly attack on ips officer was suspended. The suspension of this officer was recommended. Then, Secretary to the Government of India, sharp officer T.N. From Seshan. This story is related to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi From the murderous attack on K.K. 36 years ago. The IPS officer to be suspended after that incident is 1965 batch. gautam kaul, Let us know what was the whole matter?

Actually this is the story of 2 October 1986. That is, about 36 years ago from now. On that day the President of India, Giani Zail Singh, Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Union Home Minister Buta Singh visited the Samadhi Sthal of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, located in the country’s capital Delhi. The reason for all these super powers of the country reaching Rajghat together on that day was to offer flowers to Bapu on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The time must have been between 6 in the morning and eight in the morning. In such a situation, the security of all these VVIP guests was the responsibility of the country’s intelligence agencies and Delhi Police. Till then, today’s C Special Protection Group ie SPG squad was not formed for the protection of the Prime Minister and his family. In such a situation, whenever there was a movement of these VVIPs, especially in Delhi, during that time, the responsibility of protecting them and their families used to be on the shoulders of Delhi Police.

“Look, the shot has been fired. It’s the sound of a bullet”

On October 2, 1986, Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, along with wife Sonia Gandhi, Union Home Minister Buta Singh and then President Giani Zail Singh had reached Rajghat. The time must have been this one at six and half past six in the morning. As soon as Rajiv Gandhi stepped inside the main gate of Gandhi Samadhi. In the same way, the sound of firing came with the sound of “Dhany”. It’s the sound of a bullet.” With that hurried voice of Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi came the voice of the Union Home Minister, who was running close to him, “Shoot Him. Shoot him.”

Shantanu Sen, who was the head of the CBI’s investigation team after that murderous attack on the Prime Minister, and the head of the Punjab Terrorist Cell in those days, during a special conversation on TV9 Bharatvarsh after 36 years, says, “As soon as the Prime Minister opened fire and the Home Minister Buta Singh talked about killing the attacker. At the same time, Indian Service police officer Gautam Kaul, who was present on the spot, said, “No, it (the attacker) does not have to be killed.” Catch it alive.”

Delhi Police had the responsibility of security

Meaning the incident of that failed attempt to kill the Prime Minister by shooting him in such tight security had made the government and agencies of India sweat. In a flurry, whatever was coming in his mind. That’s what he was saying. What could be the result of what he said? No one had time to worry or think about it. In fact, the 1965 Indian Police Service officer Gautam Kaul has been mentioned in the above story.

He used to be the Additional Police Commissioner of the Security and Traffic Wing in Delhi Police in those days. The responsibility of protecting the Prime Minister was that of the local police in Delhi that day. Delhi Police’s DCP Security Puran Singh was also present at the spot. In fact, later, when an inquiry committee was constituted under the chairmanship of TN Seshan, the country’s senior Dabang bureaucrat and in those days the Secretary of the Government of India. Then it was revealed that after all, why IPS Gautam Kaul was talking about not shooting the person who had failed the killer attack on the Prime Minister. Because as soon as he was killed, all the facts behind the conspiracy would have been buried along with the death of the attacker.

Shot on PM, suspension of Gautam Kaul

However, in the presence of the President and the Union Home Minister or say an eyewitness to that attack on Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, the same 1965 batch IPS officer Gautam Kaul was later suspended on the recommendation of a committee constituted under the chairmanship of TN Seshan. The suspension of Gautam Kaul was as big an incident as the firing on the Prime Minister. The reason, because Gautam Kaul was a relative of the Nehru-Gandhi family. Due to which there used to be a lot of intimidation in his Indira Gandhi family.

His suspension was recommended by the bureaucrat Dabangg to TN Seshan. That too due to the negligence of Gautam Kaul, after investigation with all the facts. In such a situation, the Hindustani government could not stop the suspension of Gautam Kaul even after wanting lakhs. Hence the suspension of “high-profile” IPS from Gautam Kaul, Additional Police Commissioner level of Delhi Police, in that failed murderous attack on Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi that day, hardly anyone of that era could have forgotten.

Ta Karamjeet from Punjab

Karamjit Singh, who fired at Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi that day in the Rajghat complex, was caught alive red handed from the spot. A 12 bore pistol was also found from him. Shantanu Sen, retired joint director of CBI, who later investigated the case, says, “Karamjit Singh was sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment on the basis of our (CBI team) investigation. Which he cut in Delhi’s Tihar Jail. Then 24-25 years old Karamjit Singh was an engineering student in Delhi. He was originally from Punjab. Karamjeet was released 5 months back in 14 years for his better conduct in jail and taking better steps to make his life even in jail bars.
