The Indian pace attack could not give success to the team in the opening overs while defending the target of 152 runs.

The Pakistani batsmen batted carefully and attacked on the basis of merit against the Indian bowlers. Mystery spinner Varun Chakraborty was put on the bowling by Virat in the fourth over, then Rizwan-Babar batted carefully against him and did not attack. In the powerplay, Pakistan scored 43 runs without any loss. During this, the Indian team had scored only 36 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.
