Case registered against more than 200 people against Nupur Sharma’s support and demonstration.

There are continuous demonstrations across the country in support and opposition of the statement. Along with this, the atmosphere remains very tense and there is a lot of politics going on. IBhiwandi Police in Maharashtra staged a protest against the supporters of former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nupur Sharma. Two cases have been registered against more than 200 people for allegedly unlawful assembly in sequence, the said information has been shared by the Maharashtra Police.

Case registered in Bhoiwada and Narpoli police station

Nupur Sharma Maharashtra Police : According to the information, many people had gathered at one place in Bhiwandi city of Maharashtra on June 12, due to which the situation became tense. Police said that some of them marched to the houses of Mukesh Baburam Chavan and Saad Ansari and protested their posts in support of Nupur Sharma on social media. Some of the protesters also allegedly attacked Ansari. A case has been registered against 150 people at Bhiwandi’s Bhoiwada police station and 65 at Narpoli police station, officials said.

Appeal not to pay attention to rumours

Nupur Sharma Maharashtra Police : The protesters have been booked under sections 141, 143, 322, 323, 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. Police said that no one has been arrested in the case so far. After tension prevailed in the area on June 12, Bhiwandi Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-2) Yogesh Chavan had appealed to the people not to believe in rumors and help the police in maintaining peace and law and order. Narpoli police had asked the admins of the WhatsApp group to refrain from forwarding objectionable posts on the social media platform.
