Bumrah-Shami did not get a place in Team India for the series against West Indies, BCCI told the reason

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohd. Shami has been rested from the west indies series: BCCI has announced Team India for the series against West Indies. Fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah have not been given place in this series. Both these players have been rested. Whereas KL Rahul will not be able to play in the first ODI match. Rahul will join Team India from the second ODI. BCCI has also given information about Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel.

West Indies team is coming to India in February. During this, three ODIs and T20 series will be played between the two teams. For this the Indian team has been announced. The selection committee has given rest to Bumrah and Shami. Both these players did not get a break for a long time. Therefore, he has not been selected for the series against West Indies.

Team India’s opener batsman KL Rahul will not be able to play in the first ODI. He will play in the one-day match to be held in Ahmedabad on 9 February. Axar Patel will play the role of an all-rounder in India’s T20 team in the absence of Ravindra Jadeja. Akshar played the last T20 in the year 2021 against New Zealand in Kolkata. He has played 15 T20 matches for the country so far and has taken 13 wickets during this period.
