BPL 2022: Andre Fletcher fell victim to a dangerous bouncer, was taken from the field on the stretcher to the hospital

BPL 2022: In the Bangladesh Premier League 2022, West Indies Cricketer Andre Fletcher was hit on the neck by a bouncer ball while batting. The injury was so severe that he was immediately put on a stretcher and taken to the hospital. Fletcher represents Khulna Tigers in BPL (Bangladesh Premier League). This incident happened during the match played between Khulna Tigers and Chattogram Challengers at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Monday.

The incident happened during the Tigers’ innings when Fletcher attempted a pull shot in the seventh over on the ball bowled by Rajour Rahman Raja. But he missed and the bouncer hit his neck. Fletcher immediately fell down due to a strong jolt, after which the players of Chattogram Challengers surrounded him. The injury was so deep that he was taken to the hospital for medical care on a stretcher.

The BCB physician said, “Fletcher was kept under observation on the field for some time and he seemed to be recovering. But he has been taken to the hospital as a precaution.”

Khulna Tigers manager Nafees Iqbal informed the media, “Andre Fletcher is out of danger now. He is conscious, and is not feeling any discomfort.”

Sikandar Raza replaced Fletcher as Concussion Substitute. Raja, who made his BPL debut from this match, took two wickets for 20 runs in four overs. His performance was effective.

Tigers were chasing a target of 191 against the Challengers at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Tigers could score only 165 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets and Challengers won by 25 runs.
