Amazing Durga Puja Pandal in Ranchi

Ranchi. This year in Ranchi, the organizers of Durga Puja have presented their pandals in different styles, from nuclear blasts to Chhau dance and cultural structures.

Organizers in Ranchi have erected their pandals and statues on various themes after Durga Puja was allowed publicly after two years due to COVID-19 restrictions. Artists, mainly from the neighboring West Bengal state, were seen finalizing the statues as the puja pandals would be opened to the general public on Saturday. Pandals based on the culture and tradition and religious structures of Jharkhand have also been built.

Ranchi Railway Station Durga Puja Committee has painted a ‘Mushroom Cloud’ to convey the message of environmental damage caused by nuclear tests. A ‘mushroom cloud’ is formed when a plume of very hot gas is released from an explosion.

Eco-friendly material has been used in the pandal and a rainbow shaped design has been made in front of the pandal to show the colors of nature.

The chairman of the committee, Munchun Rai said that the theme of our pandal this year is on environmental protection. We created the Mushroom Cloud to show that the nuclear threat should protect nature. According to this concept, we have spent about 40 lakh rupees in the construction of the pandal.

Bakri Bazaar, known for its grand puja pandals, has housed a replica of the under-construction ISKCON temple in Mayapur, West Bengal. The height of this pandal is about 90 feet.

Satya Amarlok Puja Committee has displayed the art and culture of Jharkhand in its pandal at Marwari Bhawan on Harmu Road. The Chhau dance of Seraikela-Kharsawan is shown at its entrance while wooden effigies along with traditional musical instruments like ‘Dhol’ and ‘Nagada’ are welcoming the audience.
