A purported video of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat, who is often in the news for his statements, has surfaced. In the video, Rawat is seen targeting the functioning of his own government. They are seen saying that no work is done in the state without paying commission.
It is not known when this video is from. In the video, he is seen sitting in a room with several people expressing concern over the commission situation in the state. In the video, he is seen saying that I have been the Chief Minister, I have been the Chief Minister and perhaps I should not have said this, but I have no hesitation in saying that when we separated from Uttar Pradesh, I had to get the work done. For that, up to 20% commission had to be paid there.
He further said that after the separation from Uttar Pradesh, the commission was to end. But it continued and we started with 20 per cent commission. I have been told that nothing can be done without paying commission. The practice of commissioning was in Uttar Pradesh but unfortunately it continues in Uttarakhand also.
Rawat said that no one person is responsible for this. This is the mindset. Commissioning will end from Uttarakhand only when it comes in us that the state is our own and will look like this family.
Let us tell you that Uttarakhand came into existence on 9 November 2000 after separating from Uttar Pradesh. Tirath Rawat served as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from March 2021 to July 2021. During this, he had given a statement about the wearing of torn jeans by women. Which was heavily criticized.
