Gopalganj. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Kusum Devi on Monday filed her nomination papers for Gopalganj assembly constituency in connection with the by-elections being held in two assembly constituencies in Bihar. Many BJP state level leaders were present on this occasion.
BJP candidate Kusum Devi is the wife of former MLA Subhash Singh. The by-election is being held in Gopalganj due to the death of Singh.
Kusum Devi filed nomination papers on Monday. Many senior party leaders including Bihar BJP state president Sanjay Jaiswal, Union Home Minister Nityanand Rai, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, Samrat Chaudhary were present on this occasion.
After filling the nomination, a public meeting was organized in the grounds of Kamala Rai College.
Talking to reporters after the nomination, state president Sanjay Jaiswal claimed the victory of Kusum Devi and said that late leader Subhash Singh was the MLA of this area for the last four times.
He said that the result of this by-election will give a befitting reply to the immoral alliance and grand alliance for the people of Bihar.
It is noteworthy that by-elections are being held in Mokama and Gopalganj assembly constituencies in Bihar. The BJP has declared its candidates for both the seats, but the RJD is yet to announce the candidates.
