Big news for medical students who returned home due to war and corona, knowledgeable will get relief

National Medical Commission decided to give relief to the students who returned from abroad due to war and corona in the ‘Foreign Medical Graduate Examination’

There was a lot of uproar among the students who returned due to war-Corona after completing MBBS from medical colleges abroad, regarding the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination. There was confusion regarding the internship to be done after completing MBBS. Meanwhile, the National Medical Commission has decided to consider such students as eligible for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination. Students and parents have heaved a sigh of relief after the Medical Commission issued an official circular in this regard.

Significantly, due to the ongoing war between the Corona epidemic and Russia-Ukraine, the academic work of students studying in medical colleges abroad has been affected. Due to Corona, students studying in countries including China, Canada, Russia had to return there due to the lockdown. While the Russo-Ukraine war has also damaged the studies of many students. Meanwhile, the National Medical Commission has decided to give relief to the students who have returned from abroad due to war and corona in the ‘Foreign Medical Graduate Examination’. Students who have returned to India for both the reasons and have not completed MBBS-graduate course before 30th June-2022 will be eligible to appear for FORE Medical Graduate Examination.

According to the circular issued by the National Medical Commission, those who have completed their medical graduation from foreign colleges in the last one year and completed the course before June 30 can appear in the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination. After clearing this exam, one has to do a compulsory rotating medical internship for two years. Only then they will be eligible for registration in India. Earlier, students pursuing MBBS abroad were offered one year internship abroad and one year internship in India. However, till now only one relief has been given to the students. No such relief will be given to the students in future.
