35-40 PFI workers were detained

Over 35 PFI members who were protesting in Pune district were taken into custody on Friday, a day after the National Investigation Agency raided the premises of Popular Front of India across the country on Thursday. Senior inspector of Bundagardan police station said that 35-40 PFI workers were detained as they were not given permission to protest. Action was taken on PFI led by NIA on Thursday and 106 leaders and activists of this extremist Islamic organization were arrested. According to officials, simultaneous raids were conducted at 93 places in 15 states against the PFI for allegedly supporting terrorist activities in the country.

Case registered against 11 for blocking road in Udupi

The Udupi City Police has registered a case against 11 PFI workers for blocking the road during a protest against NIA raids on PFI offices. Police sources said that the PFI did not take prior permission for the protest and a case has been registered against them for disrupting life by blocking the road.
