Malabar Hill is home to many industrialists and eminent personalities from the corporate world, including industrialist Sajjan Jindal, Adi Godrej and the Birla family. The country’s 36th richest industrialist and investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala has a net worth of $5.7 billion.

According to media reports, the 14-storey bungalow of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala is being built on BG Kher Marg of Malabar Hill, on which the construction work is going on in full swing. The view of the Arabian Sea is also visible from Malabar Hill. The land on which Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s bungalow is being built had earlier 14 flats, which were bought by Rakesh and his wife Rekha Jhunjhunwala for Rs 371 crore. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s bungalow is being prepared by demolishing these flats. A 57 meter high building is being built on this plot of total 2700 square feet.

Land purchased for Rs 371 crore
Ridgeway Apartments was on the plot of land where Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s bungalow is being prepared. It had 14 flats and parking space. The ownership of this apartment was with two privates. Rakesh and Rekha Jhunjhunwala bought seven of these flats first from Standard Chartered Bank in 2013 for 176 crores and then the remaining apartments they bought from HSBC in 2017 for 195 crores.

Will shift to new bungalow soon
After the completion of the construction of the new house, 61-year-old Rakesh Jhunjhunwala along with his family will shift here. His family includes 57-year-old wife Rekha, daughter Nishtha and twin sons Aryaman and Aryaveer. The Jhunjhanwala family is currently living in Il Palazzo Apartments near Hanging Gardens.

Bungalow will be equipped with facilities
Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s new house will have all the facilities. Banquet hall on one floor, swimming pool on one, gym on one, home theater on one. The top floor of the building will have a 70.24 square meter conservatory area, re-heating kitchen, pizza counter, good outdoor seating space, vegetable garden, bathroom and an open terrace. The new house will have all the luxury. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala himself will live on the 12th floor. The 11th floor will be for all the three children. A gym is being built on the 8th floor. There will be an infinity pool on the 5th floor from which the open sky will be visible. The basement will be earmarked for services and parking. Seven parking slots are being made for a family of five members.
