‘Big Bull’ earns 101 crores in Muhurta trading on Diwali, these 5 stocks made profits

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala Portfolio: Big Bull Rakesh Jhunjhunwala earned Rs 101 crore from his five portfolio stocks in this year’s Muhurta trading session. As the market progressed during the once-a-year session, the veteran investor made strong returns from several stocks.

Indian Hotels was one of the top gainers in Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s portfolio, posting a strong 6% gain in the one-hour trading session. Along with Indian hotels, the Tata group’s auto giant – Tata Motors – also dazzled the billionaire investor’s portfolio this Diwali.

The share price of Tata Motors closed at Rs 490.05 per day with a gain of 1% in this Muhurta trading session. Big Bull holds 3.67 crore shares of the auto giant. Tata Motors shares in Big Bull’s portfolio were valued at Rs 1,783 crore before muhurat trading. It increased by Rs 17.82 crore to Rs 1,800 crore during the special session. The share price of Tata Motors has risen 162% so far this year.

Big Bull has been vocal for business to reopen and his hospitality bet, India Hotels, was seen taking advantage of the business. The share price of Indian Hotel closed at Rs 215.45 per share, up 5.95% during the Muhurta trading session. On Wednesday, the price of Indian Hotels was Rs 507.70 crore, but in the Muhurta session, the price increased by Rs 31.13 crore to Rs 538.84 crore.

Rating and research agency Crisil’s share price rose 2% during the Muhurta trading session. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala holds 39.75 equity shares of the company, the value of the stock in his portfolio stood at Rs 1,144 crore at the end of yesterday’s session, as against Rs 1,123 crore on Wednesday. That is, a profit of Rs 21.72 crore was received for Big Bull.

In addition, Escorts helped the veteran investor to the tune of Rs 18.11 crore. The stock price rose 2% on Muhurat trade and the value of the stock in Big Bull Portfolio rose to Rs 978 crore from Rs 960 crore earlier this week. Big Bull also earned Rs 12.6 crore from its gaming and hospitality stake, Delta Corp. The stock jumped 3.3% during the Muhurta trading session, taking the value of the stock in the Big Bull portfolio to Rs 563.40 crore from Rs 550.80 crore on Wednesday.
