The belief behind this is that on the day of Yama Dwitiya, by abusing and cursing brothers, they do not fear Yama (death).

The worship of Lord Chitragupta is also being celebrated with pomp all over Bihar. The worship of Chitragupta ji has special significance in Hinduism. Chitragupta is the deity of the Kayasthas. Lord Chitragupta Kalam is considered a deity. By worshiping Chitragupta, courage, bravery, strength and knowledge are attained. On the day of Kayastha worship, along with Lord Chitragupta, they also worship pen and ledger as both of them are dear to Lord Chitragupta. Along with this, the details of one’s income and expenditure and complete information about the children of the family are offered to Lord Chitragupta.
