Bengal Warriors won the second match of PKL 8 by defeating Gujarat Giants

Pro Kabaddi League 2021-22, Bengal Warriors vs Gujrat Giants: Bengal Warriors defeated Gujarat Giants 31-28 in the 9th match of the Pro Kabaddi League played at Sheraton Grant Whitefield in Bangalore on Friday. Rakesh Narwal of Gujarat Giants was the highest raid point scorer in this match, scoring 12 points in 6 raids, including a tackle and 5 bonus points. Apart from this, Girish Ernak and Ravinder Pahal made many excellent tackles. On the other hand Maninder Singh scored 8 raid points for Bengal Warriors, while Ismail Nabibaksh, Rohit and Akash scored 4-4 points. Thanks to this all-round game, Bengal Warriors registered their second consecutive win by defeating Gujarat Giants.

The match started with the raid of Rakesh Narwal of Gujarat Giants but he could not open the team’s account. Maninder Singh gave a successful raid to Bengal Warriors for the first point. Gujarat Giants strengthened their defense and made some excellent tackles. Rakesh Narwal, Girish Arnak and Ratan (Rathan) made 6 tackles with Ravinder Pahal. On the other hand, for Bengal, Rohit Banne, Rinku Narwal, Maninder Singh, Ismail Nabibaksh together made 11 raids for the team. This was the reason that at the end of the first half, Bengal Warriors were ahead 16-11.

At the beginning of the second half, Gujarat Giants showed signs of a comeback by taking the first point. No team was all-out in the game so far. In the second half, Gujarat got the support of Rakesh Narwal and Parvesh Bhainswal. On the other hand, Maninder Singh and Ismail Nabibaksh of Bengal Warriors caught their momentum in the second half and made excellent raids. The last 10 minutes of play were left and Bengal were ahead 24-19. Rinku Narwal made another raid and gave the team a lead of 6 points.

So far, Gujraj Giants had made 13 unsuccessful tackles, while the Bengal defenders had made only 6 unsuccessful tackles. However, Rakesh picked up the pace in the last minute and completed his Super 10 raid. Bengal got the support of Akash Pikalmunde in the last minute and extended the team’s lead by making three successful raids. Giants were trailing by 4 points in the last minute, but Rakesh Narwal scored a fine raid to get two points. On the other hand, another wrong tackle from Girish increased Bengal’s lead. After this the match went out of reach of Gujarat and Bengal Warriors registered their second consecutive win in the season.
