Banks are not functioning for many days in the festive season, so before going to the bank every week, you should definitely check the list of holidays, so that there is no problem. There will be no work in banks for 6 days out of 7 next week. Please note that these holidays vary from state to state. Every month a list of bank holidays is issued by the Reserve Bank of India, so that the customers do not face any kind of problem.

Let us tell you on which day the banks will be closed next week (Bank Holidays List)

  • Banks will not work on October 18 due to Kati Bihu festival in Guwahati, Assam.
  • Eid-e-Milad is on October 19, due to which banks will remain closed. Banks will remain closed on this day in New Delhi, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Belapur, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi. There will also be no banking operations in Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram.
  • Banks will remain closed in Bangalore, Chandigarh, Shimla, Kolkata and Agartala on October 20 on account of Valmiki Jayanti.
  • Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar after Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi on October 22.
  • Banks will remain closed across the country due to the fourth Saturday on 23 October.
  • Banks across the country will not work due to Sunday on October 24

On October 1, the half-yearly bank in Gangtok did not work due to closing account. Apart from this, banks were closed in all the states on 2 October due to Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. Apart from this, due to Sunday on October 3, there was no work in the banks. On October 6, Mahalaya Amavasya – Banks were closed in Agartala, Bangalore and Kolkata. Banks were closed on 7 October at Mira Chaoren Houba of Liningthou Sanamhi- Imphal. There was no work in the bank due to the second Saturday of the month on 9 October and Sunday on 10 October.

Even this week, there was no work in banks for many days.

  • October 12 – Banks will remain closed in Agartala and Kolkata on account of Durga Puja Saptami.
  • 13 October – Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Kolkata as well as Bhubaneswar, Gangtok, Guwahati, Patna and Ranchi due to Durga Puja Maha Ashtami.
  • October 14 – Due to Durga Puja Navami, banks will not function in Agartala, Bhubaneshwar, Kolkata, Gangtok, Guwahati, Kanpur, Lucknow, Shillong, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Patna and Ranchi.
  • October 15 – Banks across the country will remain closed due to Dussehra, but on this day, there will be work in banks of Imphal and Shimla.
  • October 16 – Banks will remain closed in Gangtok due to Durga Puja.
  • October 17 – Banks across the country will be closed due to Sunday.
