Bajrang Dal worker dies in Delhi

New Delhi. One person was killed, while two of his friends were seriously injured in a clash between two groups in Delhi’s Ranjit Nagar. The police gave this information on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Nitesh, who is said to be a worker of Bajrang Dal.

BJP leader and Supreme Court lawyer Prashant Umeo alleged on Twitter that Nitesh was murdered because he was a Hindu and a Bajrang Dal worker. However, the police rejected his claim and said that it was a fight between two groups and there was no communal angle in the matter.

A senior police officer said that two groups clashed in Shadipur area on Friday. The officer said that one group consisted of Nitesh, Alok and Monty while on the other side there were three other youths.

An officer of Ranjit Nagar police station said, after an argument, a fight broke out between the two. Nitesh and Alok were seriously injured in the incident. Initially, the victims did not make any statement before the police. We have registered an FIR under sections 308 and 34 of IPC.

Police formed a team and started investigation. Meanwhile, injured Nitesh died during treatment. The police have got the CCTV footage of the incident. Police said that they have identified the accused involved in the case. The accused have been identified as Ufiza, Adnan and Abbas. All the accused are said to be absconding. Police said that Nitesh and Alok have an old criminal record. Further investigation is on in the matter.
